Your Responsibilities

The Imaging and Optics Facility (IOF) of ISTA provides an elaborate state-of-the-art machine park for microscopy, flow cytometry, as well as custom image analysis and optical development services. The task for the new team member is to assist in updating the digital infrastructure and in developing and implementing database management tools:
– Update digital information platforms, that include facility website, intranet, quality control & inventory databases
– Supervised development and implementation of new database management routines
– Assist in the development of a “Quality Control System Dashboard” that provides an overview of quality control and maintenance metrics

Your Profile

  • Enrolled in BSc or MSc program in Information Technology, Life Science, Physics or Neuroscience (or equivalent)
  • Basic experience in information handling and digital content (website management; database management)
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python; Matlab; R) is of advantage
  • Affinity for microscopy techniques (e.g. Brightfield; Fluorescence; Confocal microscopy) and Image Analysis (Image J)
  • Reliable, precise and conscientious approach to work
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills
  • Ability to independently take over small projects
  • Good command of English (working language: English)
