PhD in Single-Molecule Localization Microscopy for Neuroscience

Posted on 13 February 2025

Location: Paris, France

Closing Date: 26 March 2025

Synuclein diffusion analysis in neurons using event-based super-resolution microscopy

We are looking for a motivated candidate for a co-supervised PhD funded by the program LightInParis. It aims to study the mobility of the protein alpha-synuclein in neurons to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying its accumulation, associated with certain neurodegenerative pathologies. The description of these mechanisms will rely on the use of event-based microscopy. The PhD will be supervised by Christian Specht (DHNS, Inserm, Université Paris-Saclay, Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France), and co-supervised by Ignacio Izeddin and Clément Cabriel (Institut Langevin, ESPCI Paris, Université PSL, CNRS, Paris, France).

Eligibility criteria: the application needs to respect the MSCA-COFUND mobility rule. In particular, the candidate must not have studied/worked in France more than 12 months during the last 36 derniers months (at the starting date of the contract).

Host institutes:
– DHNS (Inserm / Université Paris-Saclay), Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France
– Institut Langevin (ESPCI Paris / PSL University / CNRS), Paris, France
