Image Analysis Associate

About the position:
The Image Analysis Associate will join the Cimini lab to aid in processing and extracting quantitative information from microscopy images. Primary duties will include tuning and applying image analysis pipelines and documenting project methods and metrics. The Associate will use project management skills to track multiple datasets across multiple projects. Additional duties will be tailored based on project needs and Associate interests but could include broader training in image analysis, coding, and/or data science components of existing projects.

The Image Analysis Associate will gain expertise in using CellProfiler, an image analysis software that our lab develops and maintains, and cloud-based workflows, especially Distributed-CellProfiler run in Amazon Web Services. 
 
Requirements
– B.A. in biology or similar field
– Substantial experience with light microscopy and some experience using image processing software on biological assays 
– A personality that is helpful, professional, highly organized, and goal-oriented, efficiently juggling projects and competing demands while tracking time spent on each task and monitoring deliverables
– Able to clearly communicate with biology collaborators about project aims and results, and with software engineers on the team about image processing and software needs
Useful but not required: CellProfiler expertise, Python programming experience, and experience with Linux environments, cloud computing clusters, and CLIs.
