The Centre for Advanced Histology & Microscopy (CAHM) at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre provides support to researchers using high-end optical microscopes including confocal, spinning disk, multi-photon, super-resolution and spatial proteomic/transcriptomics in their research projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated Microscopy Specialist to join our dynamic research Core Facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in optical microscopy and a passion for scientific discovery. This role will involve providing essential microscopy support, training, and troubleshooting to researchers across various projects and is responsible for:
– Maintain records of microscopy maintenance, training and usage.
– Troubleshoot microscopy equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
– Discuss and understand analysis requirements with researchers.
– Provide guidance and support to researchers in selecting appropriate microscopy methods for their experiments.
The ideal candidate will also contribute to our Spatial Biology Platform, advancing cutting-edge research through antibody optimization, and use of multi-spectral imaging technologies.
