The FIB-SEM Collaboration Core (F-SCC) at Yale School of Medicine is seeking a Senior Staff Scientist to join our pioneering team at the forefront of volume electron microscopy. The F-SCC leverages cutting-edge enhanced Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscopy (eFIB-SEM) technology to achieve large-volume imaging at nanometer isotropic resolution.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the F-SCC Director, the Senior Staff Scientist will manage the image acquisition pipeline. Responsibilities include:
– Performing X-ray-guided FIB-SEM sample preparation
– Conducting enhanced FIB-SEM image acquisition
– Carrying out image registration, alignment, segmentation, and data analysis
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, multitask effectively, and perform experiments using advanced laboratory techniques, including enhanced FIB-SEM and X-ray micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Collaboration and close communication with the supervisor, collaborators, and core members are essential.
Qualifications:
– Strong expertise in electron microscopy and related imaging technologies preferred
– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
– Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
