PhD Scholarships in “live” electron microscopy in catalysis at the atomic-scale

At VISION, DTU Physics, we are recruiting PhD candidates to push the frontier of live, atomic‑scale electron microscopy.
If you are driven to observe catalysts in action — atom by atom, in real time and under realistic reaction conditions — this PhD position offers a unique opportunity to work with state‑of‑the‑art operando TEM and contribute to fundamental discoveries at the intersection of catalysis, materials science, chemistry and quantum science.
As a PhD student in VISION, you will join a highly collaborative, international and interdisciplinary research environment where advanced electron microscopy and spectroscopy, microfabricated reactors, catalysis, cluster science and computational modelling come together to reveal how catalytic materials function at the atomic scale. You will use the new VISION PRIME microscope to explore dynamic restructuring processes, gas–surface interactions and active‑site formation in real time.
