I have 40 years experience in both electron and optical microscopy having worked in Anatomy, Plant Science, Zoology and the last 16 years based at the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, where I manage the Microscopy and Histology Facility. Within the facility we look at a diverse range of samples including bone, tissue, cells, bacteria, nanoparticles, and even insects. Bread, seaweed and sea water plankton are just some of the more unusual samples to pass through the lab.
