Graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos, with her thesis focusing on parallelization of a super-resolution algorithm at the Laboratorio Nacional de Microscopía Avanzada (LNMA-IBT-UNAM). She pursued her master's degree in Optics at the Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE), where she worked on image reconstruction in microscopy through scattering media. She obtained her Doctorate from the Posgrado en Ciencia e Ingeniería de la Computación at UNAM, with her project titled "Analysis and classification of flagellar beating patterns of spermatozoa using 3D+t imaging." Currently, she is conducting a postdoctoral stay at LNMA-IBT-UNAM as part of the project "Advancing Bioimaging core services with artificial intelligence," funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Additionally, she is associated with Educaciencia, a company that produces 3D-printed microscopes, provides teacher training, and conducts workshops aimed at fostering STEM curiosity among children and youth, thereby enhancing education in Mexico.

Achieving true reproducibility in bioimage analysis is a milestone that may seem far away, but it is a goal to which we must aspire. The current reality is that many published papers lack the necessary documentation, and full disclosure of the steps they followed to obtain results, necessary to reproduce their methodologies accurately. This gapPosted by Haydee Hernández, on 2 August 2024
Today, I’m excited to introduce Educaciencia, a pioneering spin-off from Mexico’s National Laboratory of Advanced Microscopy (LNMA). Our journey began with a transformative project called Educascope, and through this post, I want to share with you how this initiative has evolved, and the impact it has had on STEM education. The Challenge: Addressing Gaps in
