Postdoctoral position on cell-cell fusion, University of Geneva

Posted on 10 March 2026

Job type: Postdoc

Location: Geneva

Closing Date: 15 April 2026

The Martin lab at the University of Geneva has an open postdoctoral position in cell biology to study cell-cell fusion.

We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to probe into the molecular mechanisms of cell-cell fusion. The lab uses fission yeast as a model to understand how sexual partner cells orient, commit and fuse together once and only once. Several research projects are possible, for instance addressing MAPK signaling, cytoskeletal organization, pheromone communication or cell wall remodeling. The ideal candidate will bring an open and curious mind, be highly motivated to succeed in science and will have complementary competences to the lab strengths.

The lab has extensive competence in live-cell imaging and in vivo manipulations. We are located at the University of Geneva, in a vibrant research community with common interests in cellular, molecular and biophysical mechanisms.
