BioImage Analysis Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented, creative and rigorous data scientist to join the team as BioImage Analysis Specialist. This role supports our large multidisciplinary user base with specialist image data processing and analysis expertise, to extract useful quantitative insights from the complex data generated by users of the facilities. While projects span a wide range of fields from the various faculties and departments within King’s, in addition to external users, this role particularly focus on biomedical and life sciences applications.
This involves the analysis of multidimensional imaging data acquired on high-end instruments using a variety of modalities, primarily fluorescence microscopy but also EM, correlative, and multi-modal approaches, and covering all scales from molecular processes and biophysical measurements to the development of entire organs and organisms.
The successful candidate will be joining an enthusiastic team enabling world-class research in an exciting environment where innovation is paramount, supporting diverse facility users with projects at the interface of biology, physics, and technology development. The main responsibility is to ensure the smooth, end-to-end delivery of a reliable, professional image analysis service.
This includes the full project cycle: from initial consultation and project design, through data preparation and pre-processing, to developing custom workflows or special analysis tools, automating pipelines and optimising, scaling and adapting solutions. This role also involves providing training and preparing data output for scientific publications.
This is a full-time, (35 hours per week) position, offered on an indefinite contract.
The role is based at the Guy’s campus and part of the King’s Research Platforms Core Facilities Team and the wider Research Technical Professionals community at King’s.
