Postdoc position in Advanced Structural Characterization of Molecule Adsorption in Porous Materials
Posted on 12 February 2026
Location: Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark
Closing Date: 31 March 2026
Description
Join DTU Nanolab’s “Nano‑Micro‑Macro. Structure in Materials” group to uncover how molecules adsorb in and on porous materials – linking host-guest interactions and interfacial structure to macroscopic performance in separations, catalysis, sensing, and environmental remediation.
You will push state‑of‑the‑art electron microscopy imaging, diffraction, and spectroscopy – by developing ultra-low‑dose strategies and environmental/operando approaches – to resolve adsorption from initial uptake to site occupancy, diffusion, and activity or desorption under relevant conditions.
Requirements
– PhD (or near completion) in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
– Extensive experience with advanced electron microscopy (imaging and spectroscopy).
– Strong research track record and communication skills
– Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
– Plus (advantageous): experience with porous adsorbents / reticular chemistry; adsorption measurements; complementary spectroscopy; or simulation/modelling
