Research Technician – Expansion Microscopy

We are seeking a highly motivated research technician to join the Dey Group.
The Dey Group studies the evolution and diversity of cell division mechanisms across the eukaryotic tree, using comparative cell biology, evolutionary theory, and field experiments.
Your role
Constructing an ultrastructural atlas of microbial eukaryotes using expansion microscopy, as part of a UNIGE-EMBL consortium funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. You will join an international project team that includes a postdoctoral fellow (UNIGE), another technician (UNIGE) and a computer scientist (EMBL Heidelberg), and be embedded within the Dey Group at EMBL Heidelberg. You will be responsible for cultivation of microbial species, site visits to other laboratories to preserve cultures, implementing the expansion microscopy protocol and imaging gels using widefield and confocal microscopy.
