CIDRE

Posted on 5 December 2019

CIDRE is an illumination correction method, developed by the Horvath lab, that can be applied retrospectively. All imaging systems suffer from uneven illumination and it is important to correct for these differences as they can impact downstream analyses leading to incorrect quantification. CIDRE works by building a model of image distortion directly from the images rather than requiring reference images, with larger datasets providing more robust correction. The method was published in Nature Methods in 2015.
