Segment Anything for Microscopy
Posted on 25 February 2025
Segment Anything for Microscopy (μSAM) is a tool, based on Segment Anything (SAM) – a vision foundation model (VFM) for image segmentation, to speed up diverse segmentation and tracking tasks in multidimensional microscopy data. It implements interactive and automatic segmentation in a napari plugin. μSAM provides a unified solution for microscopy annotation by fine-tuning generalist models for cell and nucleus segmentation in light microscopy and organelle segmentation in electron microscopy. It offers a versatile tool for (interactive) microscopy image segmentation to offer users a faster and improved segmentation experience.
