The Tanenbaum lab at the Hubrecht Institute in Utrecht, The Netherlands is seeking a (staff) scientist with expertise in image analysis and modeling/statistics (full-time or part-time). The position is available for 4 years, but may be extended into a permanent position.
The Tanenbaum group has recently developed innovative new technologies to study viral and human gene expression in live cells with single-molecule microscopy. Supported by an ERC Consolidator grant, we are recruiting a (staff) scientist to join this exciting project to uncover mechanisms of gene expression regulation and viral infection biology. We are very eager to recruit a computational biologist that is excited about microscopy-based data analysis. The position will involve developing software for image analysis, and will likely also include modeling and statistical analyses. Familiarity with the Python programming language is preferred. You will work together with other researchers in the lab in a highly collaborative environment. MSc degree is a minimum requirement, but a PhD is preferred. Full-time or part-time positions are available. Our lab is located at the vibrant and international Hubrecht Institute (https://www.hubrecht.eu/) in Utrecht, The Netherlands and we are also part of Oncode Institute, a highly collaborative virtual institute for cancer research (https://www.oncode.nl/).
