Imaging Specialist – University of Warwick, UK

The postholder, funded through a Wellcome Multi-user equipment award, will provide expert-level hands-on technical and user support for lattice light sheet microscopy. The appointee will need to combine enthusiasm and careful attention to detail with adaptability. The post would suit an individual with either a background in physics (who wants to apply their skills to cell biology research) or a background in cell biology (who are willing to build skills in optical microscopy).

This role will support and run our multi-user Wellcome-funded lattice light sheet facility within the Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology. You will provide technical support for lattice light sheet microscopy: in experimental design, image acquisition, user training, maintenance, image analysis/processing and data sharing. You will work closely with our Computing and Advanced Microscopy Development Unit (CAMDU) and will be responsible to the Technical Services Manager, Dr. Janine Kimpton, but managed on a day-to-day basis by Dr Anne Straube.

We seek an individual with good interpersonal skills, a responsible attitude and prior experience of advanced optical microscopy.
