Journal of Cell Science cover competition

We’re looking for a spectacular image for the cover of our special issue on ‘Imaging Cell Architecture and Dynamics’. If you have an image that fits that theme, send it over for your chance to be featured on the cover of JCS and to win £200.
The special issue is being coordinated by our Guest Editors Lucy Collinson (The Francis Crick Institute, UK) and Guillaume Jacquemet (University of Turku, Finland). Lucy and Guillaume will be shortlisting the images before a public vote on FocalPlane. The special issue is already open and you can view the Table of Contents here. We already have some fantastic articles online and we’re excited to be adding more until the issue closes in October.
Competition details:
- Email your image to focalplane@biologists.com with ‘JCS image competition’ in the subject line.
- You can submit up to three images.
- In the email, please include a description of the image and imaging modality used to acquire the image or software used to reconstruct or analyse it.
- The image must fit the theme of the special issue: Imaging Cell Architecture and Dynamics.
- The final size of the JCS cover image is 23cm (width) by 24cm (height). We therefore require a high-resolution file of the correct dimensions (and may need to crop the winning image to adapt it to the correct size).
- Submitted images should not have already been published elsewhere (unless under a CC-BY license) or submitted in an open image competition.
- Deadline for image submission is Monday 9 September 2024.

I am a PhD Scholar from India. I wanted to know if digital illustrations, drawings using vector tools or digital art tools (like Procreate) can also be considered as a part of submissions.
