[FRANCE-BIOIMAGING] Join the SFBS 2026 workshop & symposium!
Posted by Marine Beraud, on 9 April 2026
Registrations are now open for the Sino-French BioImaging Symposium 2026 (SFBS 2026), which will take place in Bordeaux (France) from October 14 to 21, 2026.
This event is organized within the framework of the International Research Network (IRN) BioImage between France and China, aiming to strengthen scientific exchanges between the French and Chinese bioimaging communities around advanced microscopy and super-resolution imaging.
The event combines two complementary parts:
- Advanced Workshop (October 14-16, 2026) – applications open until May 1st, 2026
- International Scientific Symposium (October 19-21, 2026) – abstract submission deadline June 1st, 2026
The SFBS 2026 Advanced Workshop offers an intensive training experience covering the full pipeline of super-resolution imaging, from sample preparation to advanced data analysis.
Over three days, participants will gain both theoretical insights and hands-on experience on key techniques, including:
- SMLM microscopy – from principles to advanced reconstruction, including deep-learning approaches
- STED microscopy – calibration, acquisition and applications on biological samples
- Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM) – imaging and reconstruction strategies
- Expansion microscopy – sample preparation, labeling strategies and resolution gain
The program also addresses critical aspects such as probe design, multiplexing strategies, volumetric imaging, and quantitative analysis of SMLM datasets.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend up to 6 hands-on workshops, working directly on advanced systems (STED, SIM, SMLM, Lattice Light-Sheet, adaptive optics platforms) and real biological samples.
This workshop is designed to provide a practical understanding of the strengths, limitations, and implementation of each technique, enabling participants to better choose and apply the most appropriate methods in their own research.
The workshop is followed by the SFBS 2026 international symposium (October 19- 21, 2026), offering additional opportunities for scientific exchange with leading experts in the field.
The registration fee for the full event (workshop + symposium) is €200!
